Account & data deletion
This page describes how to request deletion of your Provisions account and related data for the version of Provisions operated at this website (the same app name shown on the store listing).
How to request account deletion
Deletion is completed inside the app after you confirm your identity.
- Open Provisions on your device (Android app or web) and sign in to the account you want removed.
- Open the menu (main navigation) and tap Account.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Account screen and tap Delete Account.
- Read the warning, then confirm. You will be asked to re-enter your password or sign in again with Google or Apple (depending on how you created your account). This step verifies that you control the account.
- After confirmation, the app removes your account data as described below and signs you out. You cannot undo this from the app.
If you use someone else's deployment (for example a self-hosted instance), contact the operator who invited you if you cannot access the app or complete these steps.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in account (Firebase Authentication user) for this Service.
- Your user profile stored for the Service (for example display name and household membership metadata tied to your user id).
- If you are the household administrator: the entire shared household record for that household is deleted, including shopping lists, purchase-related history, pinned items, invite codes, and other household content stored under that household in the Service database. Other members will lose access to that household data.
- If you are not the administrator: only your account and profile are removed. The household and data visible to other members remain.
What may be kept and for how long
- Operational and security logs (for example sign-in attempts, errors, and coarse troubleshooting events) may be retained by the operator or infrastructure providers for a limited period on the order of weeks, separately from shopping list content. They are not a full copy of your list.
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud may retain certain service logs or backups according to Google's data processing and privacy documentation. That retention is outside the app's direct control.
- Data on your device (for example offline cache in the browser or app storage) may persist until you uninstall the app, clear site data, or until the application clears local storage after sign-out.
